Our Building

Built in 1866, Bovey Tracey Town Hall is a Grade ll listed building set on an island in the heart of Bovey Tracey, the gateway to Dartmoor.

Over the last 150 years, the building has been home to our Town Council, a fire station, a cinema, and civic hall. With plans to relocate to a new purpose built civic centre, the Town Hall has become increasingly redundant, and in need of a new lease of life.

Dartmoor Whisky Distillery have taken on the custodianship of this historic building, and given a new purpose to the building, whilst restoring, and maintaining its heritage.

In the old police station you will find our visitors arrival centre, and souvenir shop, whilst in the main hall you will see our still operating, and our visitors centre attraction, and café.
