Our founder, Greg, or a member of his friendly team will welcome you and escort you to your table. The stunning surroundings, both inside and out, set the stage for an unforgettable tasting adventure.

Before you dive into a selection of our highly prized whiskies, we’ll share the story of our distillery and the unique flavours that set our spirits apart. You’ll witness the fascinating process of transforming malted barley mash into the exquisite whisky that matures into our signature blend, all while admiring our charming copper still, affectionately known as “mariannick.” Gain insight into our distillation journey, from choosing the finest ingredients to the ageing process that imparts distinctive characteristics to our whiskies. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to fully appreciate the depth and complexity of each whisky in your flight. During the tasting session, we’ll guide you through the unique qualities of our single-malt offerings.

Our team will explain the different casks used in the ageing process and how they shape the final product in each bottle. The Story of your local Devon Whisky Distillery:

A few years back, a group of whisky enthusiasts took an adventurous trip to the isolated island of Islay in the Hebrides, where they set out to craft their own unique whisky blend.

After successfully completing their project, they couldn’t help but wonder why Devon, with its ideal barley-growing climate, pristine spring water filtered through granite, and unpolluted air, had not yet seen the establishment of a whisky distillery.

Devon is home to exceptional local artisans, including the traditional malt house Warminster Maltings and a diverse array of cask ale brewers. The region has all the essential components needed to produce a high-quality single-malt whisky.

Inspired by his earlier work at Bruichladdich Distillery in 2009, Greg Millar felt a strong urge to turn his dream of Dartmoor whisky into reality. With the assistance of Simon Crow, the Dartmoor Whisky Distillery was founded and has flourished ever since.

The Landscape of Dartmoor

Dartmoor National Park boasts an unmatched natural beauty, showcasing a stunning variety of landscapes. The rough moorlands transition effortlessly into gentle hills, while ancient forests cradle winding streams.

It is within this picturesque setting that Dartmoor Whisky is produced, crafted from the highest-quality ingredients sourced directly from the park. The barley, which plays a crucial role in the whisky-making process, flourishes in the park’s rich soil, and the clean spring water is drawn from the streams that meander through the moors.

Located in Bovey Tracey, the distillery employs traditional techniques to create a whisky that stands out in flavour and character. Each batch is produced in limited quantities, guaranteeing that every bottle has its own distinct profile. Visitors are invited to explore the whisky-making process through guided tours that delve into the rich heritage and practices behind the craft.
