The Guardian: Get in the Christmas spirits

“While we’re on the subject of whisky, who knew you could buy a single malt from Devon? Dartmoor Whisky offers three finishes, of which I personally like the savoury, winey Ex-Bordeaux Cask Single Malt (£59.50 for 70cl, 46%), but the distillery also has a smartly packaged and rather more affordable “Discovery Set” (£29.95 for three 50ml bottles), if you’d like to try all of its current range.”

Devon Life: December Issue

Spirit of Christmas

“Savour the flavour of this heady whisky made in Bovey Tracey that captures the spirit of Dartmoor. Devon-grown barley and spring water from the edge of Dartmoor National Park is distilled and then aged for three years in an ex-Bordeaux single cask, soaking up premium red wine aromas and flavours.

It has a medium amber hue with aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant that mingle with hints of chocolate and coconut plus a sweet and floral finish. Serve it neat with a dash of water or a cube of ice as an after dinner drink. “

Foodie Gift Guide

“Following a decade of planning and many moons in the barrels, the very first expressions of Dartmoor Whisky have now been released, making a truly special Christmas gift for any fan of single malt. Distilled and aged in the Westcountry’s first ever whisky distillery, at at the gateway to Dartmoor within Bovey Tracey’s former Town Hall, this whisky id firmly rooted in the windswept moors that give it its name.”
