We have just released our long-awaited gin, Dartmoor Gin 1890. The first gin from our distillery is made in small batches using ingredients from Dartmoor and Devon to craft a juniper-forward London Dry Gin that has its feet firmly set in the rugged Dartmoor National Park.

Greg Millar, Founder of Dartmoor Whisky Distillery said,

“I created the botanical blend for this gin with my daughter Abby, inspired by our passion for local Dartmoor ingredients and summer walks in the Devon countryside to guide the taste. We knew straight away after tasting the gin that it was something special.”

Dartmoor Gin 1890 is a subtle marriage of fifteen botanicals evocative of Devon in the summertime, including rose petals, rosemary, elderflower, Dartmoor honey, lavender and hand-picked wild Dartmoor gorse blossom. Discover bursts of citrus, lemongrass, and the subtle spiciness of orris root in this fresh and elegantly balanced gin that is as unique as the landscape it is inspired by. The gin also features a touch of Dartmoor Spirit produced from the master whisky still and is cut with pure Dartmoor spring water for ultimate provenance.

Just like Dartmoor Whisky, Dartmoor Gin 1890 is crafted in an antique ex-Cognac copper still which was made in France in 1890, the still has been sandblasted and polished until the copper shone brightly again. Now fully refurbished, when you visit the distillery you can see the stunning still trickling with the finest Dartmoor Gin.

Serving suggestion: Franklin & Son’s Rosemary & Black Olive Tonic Water, garnished with a wedge of lime and a sprig of fresh rosemary for a refreshing summer tipple.

A bottle of Dartmoor Gin 1890 retails at £42.50 and is available to buy here.
